Riversea Açaí – Packaging
Client: Riversea Trading Co. Agency: Simon Byers Design, NZ Background: Açaí (pronounced Ah-sah-ee) is an ancient berry which grows along the banks of the Amazon river. Pablo Lemos (the founder of the Riversea Trading Co.) moved to New Zealand in 2013 and quickly discovered that his favourite fruit was not available here – left with no other option he decided to import it! Challenge: While the Açaí is popular in Brazil, little is known about the fruit in NZ. Arriving frozen & pulped, the fruit requires a series of specific steps before it is ready to eat. The brief was to develop a design that not only drove appetite appeal but also educated Kiwi’s to the audience to the way of the Açaí. Result: Leveraging its South American origins, the design brings the Açaí berry’s journey to life – from its origin in a Brazilian palm to a bowl in NZ – and positions Riversea Açaí as a premium imported superfruit, ready to be enjoyed.
